Farnaz F. Thompson – YLC President for 2019-2020
The message below is from the new YLC President, Farnaz F. Thompson, and was first published in the July 2019 YLC News Update:
I am honored to serve as president of the Young Lawyers Conference (YLC) for Bar year 2019-2020. The YLC opened doors for me to meet and work with other lawyers who have a passion to improve the legal profession and serve the public. Along with the YLC Board of Governors, I would like to open a door for you to become involved.
This year, the YLC will open a door to wellness through mentorships, and we invite you to participate in our Mentorship Network with the Senior Lawyers Conference (SLC) or to attend the Mentorship CLE. The YLC will also open a door for you to interact with and learn from the judiciary in Virginia, and we invite you to attend the Bench-Bar Dinner. Finally, the YLC will open a door for high school students to better understand the legal profession and the rule of law, and we encourage you to volunteer for the 2019 Oliver Hill/Samuel Tucker Pre-Law Institute.
